Lunch Ideas for Your Little Ones

Lunches can become mundane as the school year goes by. It is hard to be creative when we have so much going on and want to also keep healthy ideas coming. Here is a list of some fun and healthy options for your lunches!

  • Quesadillas – Kids love quesadillas and they are still good cold so they will eat up the quesadillas! You can serve them with pineapple chunks, tortilla chips, and avocado!
  • Spring Rolls or Lettuce Wraps – Kids love to have finger foods and spring rolls with rice paper or large lettuce leaves are perfect! Fill them with shrimp, pork or whatever your kids love to eat! Pack it with cheese sticks, blueberries or strawberries, and chocolate candy!
  • Some kids absolutely love breakfast for lunch! If this is the case, make small pancakes (banana or chocolate chip ones are favorites). Serve those with frozen yogurt, oranges or another fruit!
  • Deli Time – Roll your turkey around a stick of cheese and your kids will devour it! It doesn’t have to be turkey, you can use ham or roast beef, as well. Throw in apples, celery with peanut butter and chips or pretzels and they will be thrilled.
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches are a staple but can get so boring so liven it up by putting small slices on a stick and separating the sandwiches with a banana or strawberries!
  • Mini BLT Wraps – Using whole wheat tortillas, hummus, sprouts, sliced chicken or whatever you and your little ones like, wrap them together and have a lunch delight!

Keeping your children fed throughout the day can be fun and healthy! Try to incorporate as many healthy items in their lunches while making it interesting. Happy Lunch Packing!!
